Job summary

Acacia Prison, operated by Serco in Wooroloo, WA, is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse – Primary Care to provide clinical leadership and coordinate primary healthcare services within a multidisciplinary team.

You will lead nursing staff, support clinical assessments and ensure evidence-based practice while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for a population in our care.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), with no restrictions.
• Experience in a primary healthcare setting.
• Leadership experience mentoring nursing staff.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
• Excellent communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of primary healthcare services.
• Support clinical assessments, care planning and discharge processes.
• Provide mentorship and support to nursing staff.
• Promote evidence-based practice and clinical governance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes.

At Acacia Prison, you'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary healthcare team providing essential health services to a population of approximately 1,500 people in our care.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Registered Nurse – Primary Care to provide clinical leadership, support the delivery of quality healthcare and help guide and develop our nursing team.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Registered Nurse, you'll play an important role in coordinating primary healthcare services and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Coordinating and overseeing the delivery of primary healthcare services.
• Supporting clinical assessments, care planning and patient discharge processes.
• Providing clinical guidance, mentorship and support to nursing staff.
• Promoting evidence-based practice and maintaining high clinical standards.
• Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Supporting risk assessments, patient management and harm minimisation strategies.
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives, clinical policies and procedures.
• Ensuring accurate clinical documentation and compliance with relevant standards and facility requirements.

You'll be an experienced and confident Registered Nurse who enjoys supporting others, sharing clinical knowledge and contributing to a positive team environment.

To Be Successful, You'll Have

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), with no restrictions.
• Demonstrated experience in a primary healthcare setting.
• Strong clinical assessment, care planning and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership experience, including the ability to mentor and support nursing staff.
• A sound understanding of evidence-based practice, clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• An understanding of relevant healthcare legislation, workplace health and safety and equal opportunity requirements.

Experience in a forensic or correctional healthcare environment will be highly regarded, but isn't essential.
