Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Applications Engineer to support Shoals Technologies Group's EBOS deployments across utility-scale solar, energy storage, and mining projects in the Pacific region, including Sydney. You will review specs, prepare BOMs and layouts, support quotes, and deliver technical presentations to EPCs, developers, and O&M teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of solar or energy storage applications engineering
• 2+ years of AutoCAD or similar design tools
• Knowledge of the energy market in Sydney, Australia
• Familiarity with electrical distribution enclosures
• EBOS experience
• Experience working with EPCs, developers, and O&M teams
• Understanding of solar module, inverter, and tracker integration

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Applications Engineer will support the deployment of Shoals Technologies Group's EBOS solutions across utility-scale solar PV, energy storage, and mining projects throughout the Pacific region. This role partners closely with customers, EPCs, developers, and internal sales and engineering teams to evaluate project requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure compliance with AS/NZS standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project specifications and drawings, creating bills of materials and system layouts, supporting quotation development, delivering technical presentations, and providing application support throughout the sales process. The position also serves as a technical subject matter expert on Shoals' solar and energy storage product portfolio, helping customers optimize system designs, reduce installation costs, and identify innovative solutions while supporting new product development and continuous process improvement.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of solar or energy storage applications engineering
• 2+ years of AutoCAD or similar design tools
• Knowledge of the energy market in Sydney, Australia
• Familiarity with electrical distribution enclosures
