Job summary

Downer in Dalby, QLD, is seeking a Spray Seal Foreman to lead our Spray Seal crews and deliver road construction and maintenance projects safely and efficiently.

You will coordinate day-to-day site activities, supervise crews, perform pre-start inspections, uphold WHS requirements, and drive continuous improvement while building strong working relationships with project teams and stakeholders.

The role requires strong leadership, a White Card, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in civil road construction or spray seal operations.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Additional plant or spray seal-related qualifications highly regarded.
• Ability to lead crews and delegate tasks effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Experience working with plant and equipment in a civil construction environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound understanding of hazard identification and risk management practices.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Experience completing site-based documentation and reporting requirements.
• Flexible with travel when required.

Downer is seeking a motivated Spray Seal Foreman to lead our Spray Seal crews and play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of road construction and maintenance projects.

Based out of Dalby, QLD and servicing the broad regional area of South-West Queensland, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site activities, leading field crews, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with Supervisors, Project Teams, and operational crews, you'll provide leadership in the field while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, productivity, and team engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise Spray Seal crews on site.
