Job summary

Downer in Dalby, QLD is seeking a Spray Seal Foreman to lead our Spray Seal crews on site, coordinate daily activities, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery of road construction projects. You will work with Supervisors, Project Teams and operational crews to drive safety, productivity and engagement.

This role requires 2+ years in civil road construction, spray seal, or profiling, a White Card, and strong leadership with a safety focus. Regional relocation is part of the opportunity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Civil Road Construction, Spray Seal, or Profiling operations.
• Ability to lead crews and delegate tasks effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

As the Foreperson, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site activities, leading field crews, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Supervisors, Project Teams, and operational crews, you'll provide leadership in the field while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, productivity, and team engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ABOUT YOU

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Civil Road Construction, Spray Seal, or Profiling operations.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Additional plant or spray seal-related qualifications highly regarded.
• Ability to lead crews and delegate tasks effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Experience working with plant and equipment in a civil construction environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound understanding of hazard identification and risk management practices.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Experience completing site-based documentation and reporting requirements.
