Job summary

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Speech Pathologist to develop expertise in paediatric feeding and developmental care within Liverpool Hospital’s NICU and related inpatient/outpatient services.

You will contribute to a diverse caseload, work with families and multidisciplinary teams, and participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in paediatric feeding and/or dysphagia and ability to work in partnership with families to provide effective interventions for children.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality-improvement process.
• Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Work across both inpatient and outpatient paediatric feeding and developmental care services
• Be part of the Liverpool Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) service, including the newly redeveloped NICU opened in 2025
• Provide care to infants and children with a broad range of paediatric feeding disorders
• Gain exposure to a variety of outpatient service delivery models
