Job summary

Sydney Exercise Medicine at the Westmead clinic invites a Speech Pathologist to join a purpose-built, multidisciplinary team. You will access mentoring, regular supervision and structured professional development while delivering services in clinic and community settings.

This role supports clients across the spectrum of communication disorders with opportunities to pursue clinical interests. New graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) or eligibility for membership.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and clinical reasoning skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
• NSW Driver's Licence.
• Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
• National Police Check.
• Working With Children Check.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
• Eligible to work in Australia.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• NDIS experience is beneficial but not essential — training, mentoring and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments using appropriate evidence-based assessment tools.
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans based on client needs, goals and priorities.
• Provide evidence-based speech pathology intervention.
• Support clients to develop practical communication strategies that improve participation and independence.
• Provide education, strategies and recommendations to clients, families and other stakeholders.
• Monitor client progress and modify intervention plans as required.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation and reports across funding bodies.
• Collaborate with Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists and other allied health professionals.
• Liaise with GPs, specialists and other professionals.
• Provide clinic-based and minimal community-based services.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
