Job summary

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Speech Pathologist to support Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families in Central Australia. The role involves multidisciplinary collaboration, early assessment, therapy, and family support to improve child mental health outcomes.

The position requires a degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and at least two years’ post-graduate experience, with travel to remote

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
• Minimum of two years’ post grad experience.
• Willingness to travel to remote locations when required.
• Knowledge of child development and mental health.
• Experience in clinical case management with vulnerable families.
• Awareness of Aboriginal culture and health factors in Central Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Aboriginal children 0–12 and their families to optimise mental health.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team for assessment, therapy, management and family support.
• Conduct early assessment and therapeutic interventions for a range of childhood needs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with families, communities and health organisations.
• Deliver services in town and remote communities with a continuous quality framework.
