Job summary

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a Speech Pathologist to support children and young people aged 0–18 and their families in Alice Springs. You will conduct assessments, provide evidence-based interventions, and manage a clinical caseload within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work collaboratively with Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists and other partners, offering outreach support and contributing to coordinated care across Central Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
• Postgraduate experience with children and families presenting with complex needs.
• Experience in assessment and intervention across childhood disabilities and development.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong understanding of Aboriginal health, culture and issues affecting Aboriginal children and families.
• Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) requirements.
• Current NT Driver Licence or the ability to obtain one.
• Postgraduate qualifications in child health/development are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech, language and developmental assessments and observations.
• Provide evidence-based intervention, strategies and intensive support.
• Manage a clinical caseload involving assessment and treatment.
• Support children experiencing FASD, Autism, ADHD and other developmental challenges.
• Provide education and practical strategies to families, carers, support staff and external partners.
• Participate in case coordination and care plan reviews.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external services.
• Provide outreach support to children and families.
• Prepare clinical reports and contribute to coordinated care.
