Job description

Emble Allied Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team.

We're looking for a thoughtful clinician who values collaboration, enjoys working alongside children, young people and their families, and is committed to continually developing their clinical practice. As an established and evolving allied health organisation, we bring together Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Key Workers and Art Therapists to provide coordinated, evidence-informed supports that are shaped by the goals, strengths and everyday lives of the people we support.

This role is primarily focused on paediatric Speech Pathology. While most of your work will involve supporting children and their families, there may also be opportunities over time to contribute to our young adult service, multidisciplinary assessment services, parent education, consultancy, group programs and emerging school partnerships as these areas continue to evolve.

We welcome applications from Speech Pathologists at all stages of their career and recognise that every clinician brings different experiences, interests and aspirations to their practice.

About Us

Emble Allied Health is an allied health organisation supporting children, young people and families across Melbourne's north-east. Our practice is built on the belief that the best outcomes are achieved when supports are individualised, evidence-informed and embedded within the everyday environments and relationships that are most important to the people we support.

Our purpose-built 700sqm clinic in Mill Park has been designed to support collaborative multidisciplinary practice, with dedicated therapy spaces, a sensory-motor gym, multipurpose therapy areas and shared environments that encourage clinicians to learn from one another. While our clinic serves as the hub of our practice, our clinicians also provide services within homes, education settings and the broader community according to the needs and goals of each family.

Our multidisciplinary team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Key Workers and Art Therapists, alongside specialised feeding therapy and comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment services.

We believe collaboration strengthens clinical practice. By bringing together different perspectives and areas of expertise, we work in partnership with families, educators, medical professionals and the broader community to deliver coordinated, meaningful supports. This philosophy shapes not only the way we deliver services, but also the way we continue to learn, reflect and develop as clinicians.

As our organisation continues to evolve, we remain committed to continually refining our clinical practice, investing in clinician capability and delivering high-quality, evidence-informed services to the communities we support.

Working at Emble

We believe that becoming a confident Speech Pathologist doesn't happen by chance. It develops through quality supervision, meaningful collaboration, opportunities to challenge your thinking and the time to reflect on your practice. We're looking for clinicians who are curious, thoughtful in their clinical decision‑making and committed to continually refining the way they support children, young people and their families.

At Emble, professional development isn't limited to formal training. It is embedded in the way we work together each day. We value asking questions, sharing knowledge, reflecting on practice and learning from one another, recognising that every clinician, regardless of experience, has something valuable to contribute.

As part of our team, you'll have access to:
  • Regular clinical supervision and mentoring.
  • Monthly multidisciplinary professional development and discipline‑specific learning opportunities.
  • Dedicated clinician‑directed time each month to invest in your professional practice, whether that's planning, resource development, administration, clinical reflection, engaging with current evidence or pursuing areas of clinical interest.
  • Multidisciplinary case discussions and collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Dedicated time each fortnight to work alongside colleagues on projects that strengthen our clinical practice, services and organisation.
  • A collaborative environment where reflection, curiosity and continuous learning are valued as part of everyday practice.
  • Dedicated administrative support, established clinical systems and shared clinical resources.
About the Role

As a Speech Pathologist at Emble, you'll work alongside children, young people and their families to build capacity, increase participation and support meaningful outcomes in everyday life. You'll work collaboratively with families and the broader team to deliver evidence‑informed, individualised services that reflect each person's strengths, goals and unique circumstances.

This role provides the opportunity to work with a varied paediatric caseload while developing your own clinical interests over time. As our organisation continues to evolve, there may also be opportunities to contribute to our young adult service, multidisciplinary assessment services, parent education, consultancy, group programs and emerging school partnerships.

Your role will include:
  • Delivering Speech Pathology assessment and intervention across clinic, home, education and community settings.
  • Developing individualised therapy plans that reflect the goals, strengths and priorities of each child, young person and family.
  • Working collaboratively with families, educators and other professionals to support participation across everyday environments.
  • Completing high‑quality clinical documentation, reports and funding‑related documentation where required.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary case discussions, supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Contributing to service development, clinical resources and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a Speech Pathologist who is committed to delivering thoughtful, evidence‑informed care and who enjoys working collaboratively with children, young people, families and the broader systems that support them. You'll be someone who values reflection, is open to feedback and recognises that clinical excellence is an ongoing process of learning, refinement and growth.

We're also looking for someone who sees themselves as more than a clinician managing a caseload. At Emble, we value people who are curious, contribute ideas and take an active role in strengthening our clinical practice, services and organisation. We believe that meaningful improvements often come from the collective knowledge, experience and creativity of our team.

You’ll likely thrive at Emble if you:
  • Enjoy building meaningful relationships with children, young people, families and other professionals.
  • Value collaboration and appreciate the perspectives that different disciplines bring to clinical practice.
  • Are curious, reflective and committed to continually developing your knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and enjoy contributing ideas that strengthen clinical practice, service delivery and the organisation as a whole.
  • See yourself as an active contributor to the ongoing development of our organisation, recognising that great ideas can come from clinicians at every stage of their career.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, colleagues and community partners.
  • Are organised, accountable and able to manage a varied and dynamic caseload.
  • Take pride in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑informed services that are individualised to the strengths, goals and priorities of the people you support.
Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you'll have:

  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Current registration as a Certified‑Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee).
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • A current Victorian Driver Licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
What We Offer

We’re committed to creating an environment where clinicians feel supported to build a rewarding and sustainable career. We recognise that great clinical practice is strengthened through ongoing learning, collaboration and opportunities to contribute beyond your day‑to‑day caseload. Alongside a welcoming multidisciplinary team and varied clinical opportunities, we offer:

  • Competitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications.
  • Structured clinical supervision and mentoring.
  • A weekly Graduate Learning Program designed to support the transition into clinical practice for early career Occupational Therapists.
  • Monthly multidisciplinary professional development and ongoing discipline‑specific learning opportunities.
  • An annual professional development allowance to support your ongoing learning.
  • Three days of paid professional development leave per year (pro rata).
  • Dedicated clinician‑directed time to invest in your own professional practice, including planning, clinical reflection, resource development, administration and engaging with current evidence.
  • Protected time each fortnight to contribute to service development, continuous improvement and organisational projects.
  • Opportunities to develop areas of clinical interest and take on leadership, supervision and project‑based responsibilities as your career develops.
  • A purpose‑built multidisciplinary clinic designed to support collaborative practice.
  • Dedicated administrative support and established clinical systems.
  • Open discussions around flexible working arrangements, including options such as compressed work weeks where operationally appropriate.

At Emble Allied Health, we value diversity and welcome applications from clinicians of all backgrounds, experiences and stages of their career. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported and able to thrive.
