Job summary

Orica is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the capital project programme for Fixed Plant across the AusPac Mining Services Region. The role ensures governance, compliance with project processes, and hazard study application for all projects, based in Kurri Kurri, NSW.

Hybrid arrangement: 3 days in the office per week. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of capital project management experience in an industrial setting, with commercial acumen and strong governance focus.

• Degrees in engineering or other relevant disciplines highly regarded.
• Significant industry experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe execution of capital projects and ensure SHEC compliance.
• Manage planning, design, implementation and delivery of capital projects.
• Monitor and report on progress, costs and performance; prepare capitalisations and forecasts.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and act as primary contact for projects.
• Drive governance, cost control and process optimisation.

We are delighted to offer opportunity to an experienced Project Manager to support the management of the capital project programme for Fixed Plant across the AusPac Mining Services Region. This role ensures strong governance, compliance with Orica’s project processes, and application of hazard study processes for all projects.

The position is in Kurri Kurri, NSW. (Hybrid – 3 Days in Office per week, may change per Orica direction).

• Leading safe execution of projects, ensuring compliance with SHEC requirements and regulatory standards.
• Managing planning, design, implementation, and delivery of capital projects to achieve business objectives.
• Monitoring and reporting on project progress, costs, and performance; prepare capitalisations and forecasts.
• Building strong stakeholder relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned projects.
• Driving business improvement through governance, cost control, and process optimisation.
• Travel to sites on as required basis upto 25% of time.
• Qualifications in Project Management are essential, with degrees in engineering or other relevant disciplines highly regarded. Significant industry experience will also be considered;
• 5+ years managing capital projects in an industrial environment, with strong commercial acumen and governance focus;
• Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Excel, SAP 4S and Smartsheet;
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills;
