Port Phillip Specialist School in Port Melbourne is seeking an Education Support Officer to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting students with intellectual disabilities under teacher and Allied Health supervision.

You will assist with supervision, learning resources, personal care, behaviour support, and safety plans, while collaborating with the leadership team to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifikationen

• KSC 1 Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.
• KSC 2 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
• KSC 3 Demonstrated commitment and experience in the field of Special Education.
• KSC 4 Demonstrated capacity to work with students with intellectual disabilities and experience supporting students with challenging behaviours.

Aufgaben

• Support students under the direction of teachers and Allied Health staff.
• Assist with student supervision during yard duty and camps, excursions.
• Support student¿s manual handling, personal care, behaviour support, transition and safety plans.
• Prepare and organise student learning resources, equipment, and curriculum support materials.
• Support students individually and in small groups up to 4 across a range of curriculum areas
• Assist with the implementation of students educational and wellbeing programs.
• Support the emotional and wellbeing needs of the students
• Ensure work areas, materials, equipment, and appliances are maintained in a clean, safe, and ready-to-use condition.
• Work collaboratively and flexibly across all areas of the school
• Provides specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN
• Other duties as determined by the Leadership team.
