GMP Lawyers in Sydney CBD is seeking a dedicated Special Counsel Class Action Solicitor to join our dynamic litigation team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on managing and advancing class action cases to ensure clients receive the highest standard of legal representation.

The successful candidate will lead case strategy, mentor junior solicitors, and contribute to the firm’s growing class action practice while staying abreast of changes in Australian class action law.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent.
• Admitted to practice as a solicitor in New South Wales.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in class action or litigation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee class action litigation from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and external counsel to ensure effective communication and case management.
• Represent clients in court hearings and negotiations.
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in legislation affecting class actions.
