Job summary

Saab Australia is seeking a Space Software Engineer to develop space-domain software that provides real-time situational awareness and decision-support. You’ll work in an agile, multidisciplinary team delivering interfaces, data integrations, and core system functionality aligned with the product roadmap.

You'll contribute to software components, documentation, and test strategies, with a focus on secure CI/CD pipelines and risk management. Flexible hybrid work arrangements available.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript or C#.
• Strong object-oriented design and development principles.
• Experience applying design patterns and software frameworks.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and systems engineering practices.
• Experience with software engineering standards and best practices.
• Understanding of configuration management and Git version control.
• Experience in front-end and/or back-end development and API design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance software components using modern SDKs and frameworks.
• Maintain existing applications and ensure code quality and documentation.
• Contribute to solution design with architecture descriptions and diagrams.
• Perform integration testing to validate functionality against requirements.
• Support secure CI/CD pipelines for Space Domain products.
• Identify and communicate technical risks to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver software outcomes.
