Job summary

HEO, a Sydney-based space technology company, seeks an R&D Engineer to solve imaging challenges as satellites move at 7.5km/s. You will develop and test algorithms for in-orbit imaging, and craft analytics from imagery data for customers.

Join a fast-growing team in Sydney to drive automation and scalable image processing, collaborating with satellite operators and the R&D group to push the boundaries of NEI solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechatronics or related), Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics.
  • 2+ years of related industry experience or a PhD in a related field.
  • Experience in satellite operations, Earth observation, remote sensing, orbital dynamics, machine learning, image processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop techniques to continuously plan, monitor and optimise imaging operations.
  • Develop algorithms and tools to extract analytics from imagery and data sources.
  • Collaborate with partner satellite operators and internal teams to scale imaging operations.
  • Conduct R&D to evaluate and adapt new sensor modalities and imaging techniques for new orbits.
