Job summary

HEO is recruiting an R&D Engineer in Sydney to advance on-orbit imaging capabilities. You will develop and test methods to capture imagery from moving satellites, and you will build algorithms to derive actionable insights from imagery for customers.

You will work with a cross-functional team to turn research into reliable, scalable imaging operations. You should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields, 2+ years in a relevant role, and experience with Python or MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field and 2+ years in an R&D role.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for analytics and imaging tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud-based deployment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop techniques to plan, monitor and optimise imaging operations.
• Create algorithms to extract analytics from imagery and data sources.
• Collaborate with satellite operators and internal teams to scale imaging ops.
• Conduct R&D to evaluate new sensor modalities and imaging techniques.
