Job summary

Kardinia Parkside Care Community invites a passionate Sous Chef to join our hospitality team in Geelong. You will work closely with the Head Chef to lead kitchen operations, prepare nutritious meals and ensure a positive dining experience for residents daily.

You will contribute to menu planning, staff leadership in the Head Chef's absence, and uphold food safety and workplace safety standards while supporting catering for events and special occasions.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or in a similar role.
• Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
• Strong culinary, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead, coach and support kitchen staff.
• Understanding of food safety and workplace safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals meeting resident preferences and dietary needs.
• Support day-to-day kitchen operations and catering services.
• Assist with menu planning, meal presentation and special dining events.
• Lead and support kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence.
• Maintain food safety, infection control and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and minimizing waste.
• Support catering for events and celebrations.

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our hospitality team and help deliver exceptional dining experiences for our residents. What You'll Do

• Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that meet resident preferences and dietary requirements
• Support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and catering service
• Assist with menu planning, meal presentation and special dining experiences
• Lead and support kitchen team members in the absence of the Head Chef
• Maintain food safety, infection control, and workplace safety standards
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising food wastage
• Support catering for events, celebrations, and special occasions
• Contribute to a positive team culture and exceptional resident dining experiences

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, or similar role
• Passion for creating exceptional food and dining experiences
• Strong culinary, organisational, and time management skills
• Ability to lead, coach, and support team members
• Understanding of food safety, infection control, and workplace safety practices
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
