Opal HealthCare is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join Kardinia Parkside Care Community in Geelong, delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. Work alongside the Head Chef to lead kitchen operations and foster a warm dining experience that aligns with Opal’s values.

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen experience at Sous Chef level or higher.
• Ability to lead kitchen operations in Head Chef's absence.
• Strong planning and execution of nutritious, resident-focused meals.

Responsabilités

• Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals to resident preferences and dietary needs.
• Support day-to-day kitchen operations and catering services.
• Assist with menu planning, presentation and special dining experiences.
• Lead and support kitchen team members when Head Chef is absent.
• Maintain food safety, infection control and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and minimizing waste.
• Support catering for events and celebrations.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and resident dining experiences.

We're looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our hospitality team and help deliver exceptional dining experiences for our residents. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll assist in leading kitchen operations, preparing nutritious and high-quality meals, and creating a positive dining experience that brings joy to residents every day.

What You'll Do

• Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that meet resident preferences and dietary requirements
• Support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and catering service
• Assist with menu planning, meal presentation and special dining experiences
• Lead and support kitchen team members in the absence of the Head Chef
• Maintain food safety, infection control, and workplace safety standards
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising food wastage
• Support catering for events, celebrations, and special occasions
• Contribute to a positive team culture and exceptional resident dining experiences

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, or similar role
• Passion for creating exceptional food and dining experiences
• Strong culinary, organisational, and time management skills
• Ability to lead, coach, and support team members
• Understanding of food safety, infection control, and workplace safety practices
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to complete:
