Job summary

Catholic Healthcare’s Holy Cross in Kincumber, NSW, seeks a Sous Chef to provide high-quality meals for residents as part of the Inspirit care model.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll work in a new home, tailoring meals to dietary needs, maintaining HACCP standards and collaborating with the team to support resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Heart for high quality care of the elderly.
• Strong customer-centric approach and rapport building skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety.
• Understanding HACCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with dietary needs.
• Tailor meals for dietary requirements, allergies and preferences.
• Prepare texture-modified meals and supplements that remain tasty.
• Collaborate with the Concierge for events and Clinical Managers to keep records updated.
• Maintain a hygienically clean kitchen fully compliant with aged care standards.
• Work with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and resident-focused service.

We are looking for a Sous Chef to provide a quality food and dining service to our residents. The dining experience of our residents is a significant part of the Inspirit model of care. You will report to the Head Chef and have experience within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care. This is a fabulous opportunity to work in a beautiful new home and be part of the new set up.

The key focus areas of the role are

• Preparation of fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with their dietary needs and wants
• Tailor meals for dietary requirements, allergies and personal preferences
• Prepare texture-modified diets and supplements that remain tasty and appealing
• Collaborate with the Concierge for special events and Clinical Managers to keep dietary records updated
• Maintaining a hygienically clean kitchen that is fully compliant with the aged care quality standards
• Working collaboratively with team members to ensure the effective running of the household, focusing on resident needs and preferences

To be successful in this role you’ll need

• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong customer-centric approach and relationship building skills
• Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)or similar
• Ability to build relationships with older people
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
• Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is preferred
