Job summary

Strategic Partners Australia Pty is seeking a Solutions Architect to work with a Federal Government client on enterprise ERP architectures, including cloud and on-prem deployments. You will guide projects, review governance artefacts, and translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Expect to leverage 5+ years of architecture experience, strong communication, and the ability to bridge IT and business teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect.
• Experience designing cloud-based applications and solutions.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts in plain English.
• Ability to translate between technical teams and business areas.
• Experience working in Agile project teams.

Responsibilities

• Review, develop and sustain agency application governance artefacts and roadmaps.
• Assess on-premise and cloud deployments for alignment with governance.
• Document issues, risks and recommendations from reviews.
• Collaborate with IT and business areas on scoping, costing and delivery of services.
• Ensure security policies and standards are applied correctly.
• Evaluate change requests and advise governance bodies.
• Work as part of an Agile project team; perform other duties as directed.

Job description

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Solutions Architect.

Please check below all the job details:

• Contract Duration: 9 Months initially + 23 months extension
• Eligibility: You must need to be an Australian Citizen with NV1 security clearance
• Working Hours: 08 hours a day/ 40 hours a week

The Solution Architect will work directly with the Client Program, IT and business areas to provide strategic and technical guidance and lead/assist with the development of solution architectures, specifically solutions relating to the delivery of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Key duties and responsibilities

Solution Architects will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• actively contribute to the review, development and/or sustainment of the agency’s application governance artefacts, including application strategies, architectures, technology roadmaps, policies, and practices.
• undertake targeted review of existing application deployments both on premise and in-cloud, including assessment of documentation, sustainability, and alignment with agency application governance.
• based on review findings, document identified issues, risks, and opportunities, together with associated actionable recommendations.
• working directly with IT, business areas, application development teams, provide insight and assistance with the scoping, costing, planning and delivery of new application services.
• Ensuring relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices (including security) are applied correctly and consistently.
• Evaluating requests for changes and deviations from specifications and recommending actions to delegates and governance bodies for endorsement/decision or other appropriate action.
• Working as part of an Agile project/program team or business as usual area as directed.
• Performing other duties as directed from time-to-time by Directors/Team Leaders or a delegate.

Solution Architects should have experience in:

• ServiceNow
• Government ICT Transformations
• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) working as a Solution (Application) Architect
• Proven experience designing applications and solutions for cloud environments.
• Proven experience designing and documenting applications that meet business requirements and align with the AEC’s strategic vision and operational constraints.
• Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to distil technical information in Plain English to communicate with influence.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, including the ability to translate clearly between technical teams and business areas.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively manage risk and deliver fit-for-purpose applications and solutions.
• Must have an active Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance.
