Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.
In this role, you'll:
Work on the Opal 2.0 program, an $820m transformation program that will modernise the Opal ticketing system, and support technologies across NSW's public transport network. The program will deliver a smarter, more connected and future ready travel experience through enhanced digital capabilities, improved bus fleet tracking and management, integrated ticketing solutions, and improved customer services.
Be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting solution architectures that enable effective use of information to support data driven decision making, strategic planning, policy development and operational outcomes, whilst ensuring alignment with Transport for NSW technology strategy and compliance requirements.
In the first six months:
This role plays a key part in the delivery of Opal 2.0 program, partnering with the Opal 2.0 Bus Solution supplier, technical specialists and business stakeholders to support the design, operation and validation of the Opal 2.0 Bus Solution. Key responsibilities include reviewing and assessing technical documentation, working with architecture and test teams to develop and validate testing approaches, and contributing to installation, deployment and transition planning activities. The role also supports governance and assurance processes through solution analysis, option evaluation, risk and issue management, helping to ensure Bus Solution outcomes are delivered effectively and aligned with program objectives.
In the second six months:
As the program progresses, the focus shifts towards validating solution readiness and operational performance. You will work even closer with the business architecture team, test teams, and solution suppliers to review test outcomes, support and witness test execution, analyse testing risks, and lead the triage and resolution of complex issues. The role also involves investigating installation and transition challenges, assessing technical artefacts, and contributing to governance and assurance activities, including architecture reviews, solution assessments, risk management and decision support. This is a hands-on role requiring strong collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help drive the successful delivery and transition of the Bus Solution within the Opal 2.0 program.
For you to be successful in this highly specialised role, you will have proven experience performing similar duties, including the configuration, supporting, and maintenance of onboard ticketing technologies, such as driver consoles, validators, and bus tracking equipment. Experienced in engaging with internal and external stakeholders to assure delivery of bus solutions in line with technology policies and standards.
