Job summary

SeaLink WA is seeking an experienced Master less than 24m NC for the Transperth Ferry Division in Perth, WA. The role offers ad hoc shifts (0-3 per week) and can fit as a casual side gig or retirement plan for a ready mariner.

You will operate as a solo master with support available when needed, ensuring safe, reliable commuter transport between Perth and South Perth. Main duties include navigation, mooring, loading, maintenance, drills, incident response and compliance with PTA regulations.

Qualifications

• Master less than 24m NC – Essential.
• Current Driver's Licence – Essential.
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems – Essential.
• Knowledge of WH&S Regulations – Essential.
• Maritime or tourism industry experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage navigation, mooring, loading, maintenance and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct drills in accordance with company schedules.
• Manage disruptions including customer communication.
• Oversee deck equipment and engine room maintenance and preventative systems.
• Oversee vessel cleanliness and stores/ tools / equipment.
• Maintain high work ethic and professionalism at all times.
• Ensure timely arrival/departure as per Public Transport Authority regulations.
