Job summary

SeaLink South Australia invites motivated applicants to join as trainees in maritime operations, starting with Shipboard Safety Skillset and MED2, then progressing toward Master 5. The program is supported by MRAEL.

You will support ferry operations between Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island, assist engineers, gain customer service experience, with comprehensive training paid, uniforms and PPE provided, and clear career pathways.

Qualifications

• Reliable and trustworthy with a strong safety mindset.
• Enthusiastic about learning and hands-on training.

Responsibilities

• Support daily ferry operations between Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island.
• Assist Engineers with scheduled maintenance (coolant, bellows, oil changes, refuelling).
• Support Ferry Café crew with customer service as needed.
• Engage in vessel operations including navigation support, cleaning, security, and wharf maintenance.
