Job summary

Environment Protection Authority in Melbourne seeks a Solicitor in the Corporate Governance & Advice team to deliver high-quality legal services across governance, public law and regulatory matters. You will manage risk and provide practical solutions to strengthen trust in EPA as Victoria's independent regulator.

The role demands strong communication and collaboration, with opportunities to work with external solicitors and internal teams.

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualification in Law, admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner, and a Victorian practising certificate or eligibility to hold one.
At least four years post-admission experience is preferred.
Experience across governance, public law, privacy, information governance, and regulatory matters.
Ability to coordinate with external solicitors and counsel when needed.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, accurate and practical advice on governance, commercial, regulatory and public law matters.
Identify and manage legal risk through clear advice and stakeholder engagement.
Support disputes, litigation, investigations and enforcement matters, including briefs to external solicitors.
Advise on privacy, information management, contracts and corporate governance obligations.
Build trusted relationships and share legal knowledge across EPA through collaboration.
