Job summary

SunDrive is seeking an early-career Production Engineer to operate the photovoltaics production line and conduct hands-on experiments. You will collaborate with Mechanical and Mechatronics teams to characterise solar cells and drive process improvements in our patented technology.

You will perform routine analyses, prepare reports, maintain records, and help ensure safe, efficient production. This role offers growth opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in solar cell laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of PV fundamentals and characterization techniques.
• Experience with experimental reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to design, execute and analyze large processing experiments (100+ samples).

Responsibilities

• Organise and prepare production runs to support safe, smooth and efficient operations.
• Operate and monitor equipment across both the laboratory and production line.
• Prepare, handle and safely manage materials and chemicals required for production; maintain stock records and report low-stock.
• Perform routine characterisation and basic analysis using established procedures, recording results and escalating unusual findings to an engineer.
• Prepare and finalise experimental and production reports.
• Track, update and report production yield metrics for each run.
• Carry out basic maintenance, servicing and cleaning of production equipment and chemical systems.
• Perform routine chemical sampling and analysis and report results outside tolerances.
• Maintain accurate production, quality and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with team to maintain safe, efficient lab and production operations.
• Comply with health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
