Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Australian Government NV1 security clearance as a minimum.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining software within complex technical environments.
• Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages, such as C++, C#, Java or Python.
• Experience with software design, APIs, interface development and systems integration.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing and release.
• Experience using Git or equivalent version control and working within established change and configuration management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical specialists and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software components, applications and integration services.
• Translate operational and technical requirements into practical software designs and solutions.
• Develop and maintain interfaces supporting data exchange between battle management systems and other Defence capabilities.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and defect resolution.
• Investigate software issues and resolve integration, reliability and performance problems.
• Support automated build, test and deployment processes within a controlled development environment.
• Produce and maintain software designs, interface specifications, configuration records and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, cybersecurity and test teams to support verification, validation and release readiness.
• Apply secure coding practices, configuration management and engineering governance throughout the software lifecycle.
