Job summary

IMC's Platform Engineering team in Sydney is expanding its Application Platform group, building and operating scalable, self-service systems to configure, deploy, and run trading and business applications worldwide.

You will develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance Go applications, collaborate across global teams, and own end-to-end service lifecycle from requirements to operation, while using Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD to deliver reliable software.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience and proficiency in a programming language (Go, Python, or Java).
• Strong analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems programmatically.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.
• Exposure to distributed computing and modern cloud-native software design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• DevOps mindset across the full application lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and operations.
• Prior knowledge of financial markets or trading is not required, but curiosity and willingness to learn are essential.

Software Engineer – Application Platform

IMC's Platform Engineering team in Sydney works closely with our global counterparts to deliver the runtime environments and services on which IMC's cutting-edge trading and business applications run. We work on a wide variety of systems and tools that utilize a combination of in-house, open source, and third-party technologies.

We are currently looking to expand our Application Platform team.

The Application Platform team helps turn IMC software into running applications. We develop and operate scalable, self-service systems and tools to configure, distribute, deploy, upgrade, and operate trading and supporting components in data centers around the world. We use input gathered from a range of internal stakeholders to design and implement creative solutions to efficiently keep tens of thousands of services and applications running and up to date.

Your Core Responsibilities:

Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance, globally distributed Go applications.
