Job summary

IMC’s Platform Engineering team in Sydney expands its Application Platform group to deliver scalable, self-service environments for trading applications worldwide.

You will develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance Go applications, collaborate with local and global teams, and own the end-to-end service lifecycle from requirements to operations, with a strong focus on CI/CD and platform reliability.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience and proficiency in a programming language (Go, Python, or Java).
• Strong analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems programmatically.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.
• Exposure to distributed computing and modern cloud-native software design.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• DevOps mindset and comfortable across the full application lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance, globally distributed Go applications.
• Collaborate with teammates, stakeholders, and internal customers across local and global teams.
• Partner with customers to understand needs and design platform capabilities for configuring, deploying, and operating software.
• Support customers, unblock teams, and drive platform improvements from recurring issues.
• Own end-to-end service lifecycle from requirements to deployment, operation, and improvement.
• Help operate and support the team’s systems during Sydney business hours.
• Use automated testing and frequent deployments to deliver high-quality features quickly.
• Balance trade-offs between latency, throughput, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
