EVSE Australia is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable software features and internal tools. You will work with a small, dynamic team to improve reliability and analytics across our EV charging platform in Australia and New Zealand.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in software engineering, strong Python/Go skills, and hands-on AWS CDK experience. Knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and CI/CD practices is welcomed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in Software Engineering or related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or other general purpose languages.
• Experience with AWS CDK for infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

YOUR TEAM

You will be a key member of a dynamic, small software team dedicated to designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performing software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and implement internal tools, external products and improve system reliability.

YOUR ROLE

As a Software Engineer at EVSE Australia you will help design, development, and deployment of complex software features and systems. You will assist with improving business efficiency, implementing integrations, and enhancing our data analytics system. EVSE is a fast-paced and rapidly growing company, making it a good fit for candidates who enjoy taking on responsibility and making an impact.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Product Design

• Consult with key stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements
• Engage with project scoping activities and contribute to technical design decisions
• Support project planning activities including timeline estimation and resource allocation

Development

• Collaborate with other software engineers on multi-disciplinary projects
• Develop and deploy maintainable, extensible, and scalable code
• Design and implement internal business automation tools and processes

System Design

• Develop scalable, reliable cloud data hosting and processing solutions
• Design and implement processes for proactive issue identification and resolution
• Deploy and maintain logging frameworks and performance monitoring tools

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical field
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or other general purpose programming languages
• Initiative to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly AWS CDK for infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)

Desirable Qualifications

• Familiarity with testing frameworks and practices (unit testing, integration testing)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline integration and DevOps practices
• Experience with API design and RESTful services
• Experience with IoT/distributed hardware monitoring and maintenance.
