Job summary

Hypex is seeking a capable and ambitious Software Engineer to join our growing technology team in Port Melbourne. You'll design and develop medium to large scale business applications, internal platforms, client portals, workflow systems and custom software solutions with advanced agentic AI integrations.

You'll work across the full development process, from understanding business requirements and planning system architecture through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing optimisation.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of software development experience.
• Strong experience building modern web applications.
• Experience with React, Next.js, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of application architecture and design patterns.

What you'll do

You’ll contribute to a range of complex software projects, including:

• Custom business applications and internal operating platforms
• Client portals, dashboards and workflow management systems
• Scalable software solutions for medium and large businesses
• AI agents designed to perform practical business functions
• Large language model integrations and AI powered workflows
• CRM, API and third party platform integrations
• Process automation across sales, operations, customer service and administration
• Secure and reliable cloud based applications
• New product development from concept through to deployment

About you

We're looking for 2-3 years of experience and:

• Strong experience building modern web applications
• Experience working with React, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar technologies
• A solid understanding of application architecture and software design
• Experience developing systems that manage complex workflows and business processes
• Confidence working with APIs, databases and third party integrations
• A genuine interest in AI agents, automation and emerging technologies
• The ability to understand business problems and translate them into practical software solutions
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach
• The ability to take ownership of projects and work effectively within a fast moving environment

Experience building AI powered applications, internal business platforms, SaaS products or enterprise software will be highly regarded.
