Data Capture Experts (DCE) is a leading digital health technology company delivering the DC2Vue platform to public and private healthcare providers across Australia and internationally. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Melbourne-based team and help design, deliver and implement high-quality healthcare technology solutions.

This hands-on role combines technical delivery with client engagement and healthcare domain knowledge.

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Melbourne-based team and help design, deliver and implement high-quality healthcare technology solutions. About the Role

This is a hands-on software engineering and solution delivery role combining technical capability, client engagement and healthcare domain knowledge. You will work with clients, onshore and offshore teams, designers and developers across the customer engagement lifecycle. You will help clients define problems, clarify requirements, agree solution scope and translate complex business needs into practical functional specifications, solution designs and implementation plans.

Key Responsibilities Software Engineering and Quality

• Take ownership of the quality, reliability and accuracy of your work.
• Work within established engineering instructions, procedures and quality standards.
• Contribute to project quality assurance, system acceptance testing and user acceptance testing criteria.
• Maintain current technical and domain knowledge in assigned areas.

Requirements and Solution Design

• Lead discussions with clients to elicit, clarify and prioritise requirements and user stories.
• Facilitate a shared understanding of the problem, possible solutions and agreed project scope.
• Obtain client sign-off on scope and solution requirements.
• Produce high-quality functional solution specifications so stakeholders, designers and developers clearly understand the solution and acceptance criteria.
• Develop practical solution designs, implementation strategies and delivery plans.

Client Engagement and Delivery

• Collaborate effectively with clients and with onshore and offshore teams throughout the customer engagement lifecycle.
• Simplify and present complex business and technical concepts for client decision-makers.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
• Formulate and deliver change management and end-user training activities.
• Travel to client sites in Melbourne and regional Victoria when required.

Skills and Experience Essential

• Demonstrated experience in HealthTech, digital health or healthcare technology is mandatory.
• Experience contributing to the design and delivery of software solutions in complex healthcare environments.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation skills.
• Ability to produce clear functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working directly with clients throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, including with distributed teams.
• Ability to travel regularly to client sites in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Highly Regarded

• Experience with public or private healthcare providers, hospitals, community health, mental health, home care or virtual care environments.
• Experience delivering change management, user training or software implementation activities.
• Experience with system acceptance testing and user acceptance testing.
• Knowledge of healthcare integrations, clinical workflows or digital health platforms.
