Job summary

Bridge IT Engineering seeks a senior software engineer to design, develop, integrate and support secure cloud-native applications on AWS. You will work across Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS services, microservices and APIs in a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities include building serverless, event-driven and containerised solutions, implementing IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation/AWS CDK, and delivering robust CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Senior-level software engineering experience in cloud-native environments.
• Experience with microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
• Expertise in serverless, event-driven and containerised architectures on AWS.
• Proficient with Terraform, CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices for automated testing and deployment.
• Strong software and systems design capabilities.
• Experience working in Agile multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and technical leadership.
• Gov/regulatory environment experience preferred (Australian Government).
• Experience with maritime, intelligence, geospatial or real-time data platforms preferred.
• NV1 security clearance eligibility required.

• Provide technical guidance on AWS, cloud-native architecture, software design and systems integration.
• Support regulated environments and ensure NV1 readiness.

About the Role

The role is focused on designing, developing, integrating and supporting secure, scalable and resilient cloud-native applications and services on AWS. You will work across Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS services, microservices, APIs, serverless and event-driven architecture, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Integration

Design and develop cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices and integration services.

Build event-driven, serverless and containerised solutions across AWS.

Work with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS, SQS and Step Functions.

Design secure and resilient solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and AWS best practices.

DevOps & Infrastructure

Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment and infrastructure provisioning.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

Contribute to solution design, architecture reviews and technical design workshops.

Provide technical guidance on AWS, cloud-native architecture, software design and systems integration.

To thrive in this role, you will ideally have the following skills
