Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer to design, develop and implement software for the Woomera Test Range, delivering across Windows and Linux environments. The role involves improving CI/CD pipelines and collaborating in a small team to meet internal and external requirements.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field, 2–5 years’ experience, and skills in C++, C#, Python, Bash, Windows and Linux. Travel to the range may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years in a software engineering role.
  • Windows & Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred) virtualization and containerisation technologies.
  • Knowledge of Secure Development Practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Python, Bash).
  • Experience in DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, and system automation is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work independently in complex, regulated environments.

  • Analyse, design, develop and integrate a broad range of software applications into both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and Software Development Environment, driving capability forward.
  • Work in a small team to implement software functionality that meets internal and external requirements.
  • Provide input into IT design solutions.
  • Strive to find new and innovative capabilities for the Woomera Test Range Mission System.
  • Ability to work solo effectively when required.
  • Strong drive for collaboration and teamwork.
  • Building high-quality and reliable software solutions that will fill capabilities into the future.
  • Travel to Woomera Test Range to support trial activities as required.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a software engineering role, or equivalent.
  • Windows & Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred) Virtualisation and Containerisation technologies
  • Knowledge of Secure Development Practices
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Python, Bash).
  • Experience in DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, and system automation is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work independently in complex, regulated environments.
