Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking Senior Technicians to join the WTRSS program at Mawson Lakes, SA, with regular travel to Woomera Range. Support services span RHEL and Windows environments, network configurations, and user assistance, contributing to a critical defence capability.

The role requires a Certificate III in IT/ Electronics, 3+ years’ experience, Linux CLI proficiency, CISCO device knowledge, and eligibility for Negative Vetting Level 2. Travel across Australia and overseas is expected.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in IT, Electronics/Telecommunications or similar.
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience administering virtualised operating environments.
• Understanding data interface standards and protocols.
• Experience with Linux Command Line Interface.
• Experience with CISCO network devices.
• Familiarity with the ISM/PSPF and basic cyber security principles.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Administration and support of both Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments, including configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.


• Configuration and troubleshooting of complex network environments.


• Domain user support with a focus on high system availability.


• Liaison with engineering staff in the conduct of engineering and maintenance services and activities for the customer.


• Undertake travel as required, both within Australia and internationally, to fulfil the requirements of this role.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Requires a Certificate III in Information Technology, Electronics/ Telecommunications or similar qualification.


• Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience required.


• Experience administering virtualised operating environments.


• A demonstrated understanding of and experience in data interface standards and protocols.


• Experience with Linux Command Line Interface.


• Experience with CISCO network devices.


• Experience with troubleshooting tools e.g. WireShark (desirable).


• Familiarity with the ISM, PSPF and understanding of basic Cyber Security principles (highly desirable).


• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance.
