Serco supports defence and health-related services, delivering integrated on-base healthcare to Australian Defence Force personnel. This role is located at Townsville Health Centre and focuses on providing high-quality mental health care to Defence members in a civilian capacity.

Team-based environment with a focus on wellbeing, CPD, and ethical patient-centred care. Availability includes Thursday/Friday shifts and potential involvement in pre/post-deployment care.

Formación

• Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
• Minimum two years’ full-time post-graduate experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting.
• Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in Focussed Psychological Strategies and Psychological Therapy as per Medicare Schedule.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance).
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care.

About Townsville Health Centre

Townsville Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Townsville, 6.5km outside Townsville. This facility supports more than 1000 regular personnel, as well as visiting Air Force exercise and international members. It is home to the Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, and pharmaceutical services. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.

What You’ll Do

• Work every Thursday and Friday

What You Bring

• Current member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
