Queensland Health in Rockhampton is establishing a new 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service. This role supports vulnerable individuals with complex acute presentations, in a purpose-built facility designed for safety and wellbeing.

Join a multidisciplinary team with opportunities for supervision, education and leadership. Relocation assistance, visa sponsorship and short-term accommodation may be considered.

Qualifications

• Social Work degree and eligibility for AASW membership.
• Experience delivering evidence-based Social Work assessment and intervention for acute inpatient mental health.
• Strong risk assessment, formulation and clinical decision-making in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Social Work assessment, intervention, risk management and discharge planning for consumers with complex acute mental health presentations.
• Collaborate within the inpatient team to develop recovery-focused care plans and support consumers, families, carers and others.
• Act as a senior clinical resource, providing supervision, education and mentoring to staff, students and less experienced practitioners.
• Contribute to models of care, governance, quality improvement and best-practice in the new inpatient facility.
• Advocate for consumers' rights using trauma-informed, culturally responsive and least-restrictive practices.

Thisstate-of-the-art facilityhas been purposefully designed to support recovery, safety and wellbeing. It featureshigh and low dependency units, dedicated therapy spaces, modern administrative areas and indoor garden spaces, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both consumers and staff.

About the role:

• Provide high-qualitySocial Work assessment, intervention, risk managementand discharge planningfor consumers withcomplex and acutemental health presentations.

About you:

• A recognised Social Work degree and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Strong experience delivering evidence-based Social Work assessment and intervention for people experiencing acute and complex inpatient mental health presentations.
• Advanced professional judgement and expertise in risk assessment, formulation and clinical decision-making within a multidisciplinary environment.
• The ability to influence practice, contribute meaningfully to a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships through highly developed communication and engagement skills.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
