Job summary

Canberra Health Services is seeking an experienced Social Worker to lead the Social Work Team for Medical and Surgical Services at North Canberra Hospital. This full-time, temporary role runs from 1 March 2027 to 30 August 2027 and offers leadership across inpatient and outpatient programs.

Applicants should have six years’ social work experience in health settings with demonstrated clinical leadership and supervision in complex environments; on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of experience as a Social Worker, preferably in a health setting, with demonstrated clinical leadership, supervision and support in complex clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, clinical and operational leadership to a team of social workers and a social work assistant.
• Deliver services across inpatient and outpatient programs, including Stroke Services, Hospital in the Home, Surgical Preadmissions Clinic, General Medicine and Surgical Services.
