Job summary

RedDoor Community Services – Cloncurry QLD is seeking a cafe supervisor/mentor to assist young people in our training cafe. This hands-on role focuses on delivering quality food service while mentoring youth in training and maintaining a clean, compliant kitchen.

The successful candidate will manage front-of-house operations, uphold strict food safety standards, and collaborate with the social enterprise manager to provide wrap-around supports for participants.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or food service environments.
• Knowledge of food safety practices.
• Ability to work with young people in training.
• Organised and reliable with independent standards.
• Demonstrated initiative and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

The Role

• 5 days per week (set roster)

• Support employee engagement and learning.

• Oversee the front of house barista area.

• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards

• Work with our social enterprise manager to help provide wrap around supports

• Work efficiently during service while maintaining presentation

• Work alongside and model standards for young people in training

About You

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Sound knowledge of food safety practices

• Patient and able to work constructively with young people

• Organised, reliable, and able to maintain standards independently

• Able to use initiative

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in food quality, runs a clean kitchen, and can balance production with mentoring responsibilities.
