Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a Social Work Assistant for the Perth City South Adult Social Work and Social Care Team. This fixed-term role (6 months) is 36 hours per week, focusing on long-term complex cases and delivering social work interventions across adults 16+.

The team aims to provide person-centered support with opportunities for training and development. The successful candidate will need SVQ3 or be working towards it, and must register with the Scottish Social Services Council

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and competing demands.
• Understanding of Self Directed Support (SDS).
• Experience in client needs assessment and care package reviews.
• Willingness to apply for SSSC registration within timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining vulnerable people in the community through social work and care management tasks.
• Conduct Outcome Focused Assessments and negotiate flexible packages of care.
• Monitor and review individual care packages delivered via SDS.
• Collaborate with team and partner services to support adults 16+ in Perth City locality.
