Job summary

Leidos Australia seeks GEO SPACES SOC Analysts to join our Canberra team. You will monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents across critical networks and systems, and contribute to vulnerability management and threat intelligence efforts.

The role requires Australian citizenship with active NV2 clearance and willingness to uplift to TSPV; prior Defence context experience is valued. You will work with a dedicated SOC team delivering security operations for the AGO GEO SPACES contract.

Qualifications

• Active NV2 clearance and Australian citizenship are required.
• Two years’ IT security experience or four years in general IT for junior levels; 5–10 years for senior levels.

GEO SPACES - SOC Analysts

Due to the nature of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen who holds an active NV2 & be willing to uplift to TSPV security clearance; accompanied by the ability to be successful for a DISA/OSA.

Your New Role And Responsibilities

The GEO SPACES Security Operations roles are identified in the Information System Security Management Plan under the GEO SPACES contract.

Skills

These roles will report directly to the GEO SPACES Security Operations Team Lead and be capable of operating independently within the scope of their duties. There is an element of flexibility in these roles based on available skills and experience. SOC analyst and Security Engineers will work to collectively deliver the following functions:

Do Work That Matters

• Monitoring, detection and response
• Vulnerability management
• Cyber Threat Intelligence
• IT security engineering, including SIEM, endpoint, network, gateway and detection engineering
• Provide trusted advisory services
• Develop security operations related system requirements
• Change review and approvals
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, including with partner SOCs and security authorities in and out of Defence

Join us at a pivotal time as we introduce multiple new systems over the first 12–18 months, creating exciting opportunities to shape and mature our evolving capability.

During that period, it is expected that the following will mature within the Security Operations team:

• Team structure and alignment to capability delivery to support the larger team and expected higher cadence of work
• Process and procedure for both internal operations and engagement with external capabilities
• Reporting within the Leidos structure, the agency and other authorities.

What You’ll Bring To Make An Impact

Experience levels that are commensurate with various levels of security operations roles, a passion for IT security operations and the ability to work We are also looking for people that can work well as part of our team.

In junior roles, two years’ experience in IT security or four years in general IT support for cloud, network, gateway or endpoint technologies. Scripting and broader coding experience is valuable.

In senior roles, 5 – 10 years experience delivering the functions listed in Role Description, motivation to drive growth and maturation of existing capabilities and willingness to contribute to the growth of junior team members. Ideally, previous experience working in an AGO or other intelligence agency, and an understanding of key stakeholders and processes associated with delivering security operations in a Defence context.
