Leidos Australia is seeking a Vulnerability Management Specialist to join the AGO GEO SPACES Security Operations Centre in Canberra. The role is on-site and requires Australian citizenship with an active TSPV clearance, with NV2 considered for uplift to TSPV and a valid DISA as part of employment.

About The Team

The GEO SPACES Security Operations Centre provides security services to the client through a range of functions, including Vulnerability Management. You will work alongside SOC analysts and Security Engineers across multiple mission systems at varying classifications.

The team consists of seasoned and experienced security professionals who are capable of independent initiative. New team members are expected to come up to speed quickly, supported by a structured onboarding period covering team ways of working, organisational context and mission environment complexity.

While there is a strong expectation of initiative, the team works collaboratively on complex tasks and offers strong opportunities for self-development, technical growth and career broadening experiences.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Vulnerability Management Specialist to support the AGO - GEO SPACES Security Operations Capability. This is an on-site role based in Canberra, supporting work within a secure and mission-critical environment.

You will be responsible for delivering an end-to-end Vulnerability Management process in coordination with the SOC and Security Engineering teams. The role will focus on vulnerability notification, tracking, escalation and stakeholder engagement, while also contributing to process and technology uplift across the function.

You will act as the primary point of contact for Vulnerability Management related functions, questions and escalations, providing timely and considered advice to stakeholders across technical and non-technical areas of the broader organisation.

About You

You are an experienced Vulnerability Management professional who can operate with initiative, communicate risk clearly and work confidently across complex security environments. You understand how Vulnerability Management integrates with broader cyber security functions and can balance technical depth with practical, outcome-focused advice.

You bring a collaborative approach to problem solving, can brief stakeholders across varied technical backgrounds, and are comfortable making informed risk assessments under time constraints where information may be limited.

In this role you will

• Have demonstrated experience with common Vulnerability Management toolsets, including cloud integrations.
• Experience uplifting existing Vulnerability Management processes towards defined maturity levels and SLAs.
• Experience deploying, testing and validating Vulnerability Management tools at enterprise level across multiple systems and configurations.
• Ability to brief stakeholders across technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• Collaborative approach to solving problems and working with other teams and stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous improvement across personal capability and wider team outcomes.
• Clear understanding of Vulnerability Management processes and integrations with security functions such as Cyber Threat Intelligence, Threat Monitoring and Detection, Incident Response and Detection Engineering.
• Ability to conduct and confidently communicate risk assessments with limited information under time constraints.
