SMP Construction Engineer — FIFO 19:9 on Major Urea Plant

Job summary

Clough, part of the Webuild group, is delivering the CERES urea plant in WA. We are seeking an SMP Construction Engineer on a 19:9 FIFO rotation to lead structural, mechanical and piping construction activities and respond to field engineering queries.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee works to IFC drawings, monitor subcontractors, conduct toolbox talks, manage change, and help develop SMP schedules while ensuring Australian standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil/structural engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience.
• Experience in an EPC (lump sum) and construction environment highly regarded.
• Experience within oil & gas or ammonia projects highly regarded.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work a 19:9 rotation to site (FIFO).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all structural, mechanical and piping construction works and assist with engineering queries.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.
• Conduct daily site walks and toolbox talks.
• Raise RFIs and coordinate with engineering for clarifications and field changes.
• Support development and maintenance of SMP construction schedules.
• Identify risks and constraints impacting progress.
• Witness inspections and testing and ensure as-built documentation via redlines.
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards.
