Job summary

Wood Motorcycle & Mower in Warrnambool is seeking a reliable Small Engine & Motorcycle Mechanic to join our workshop. You will service, inspect and repair motorcycles and small engines, diagnose faults, and perform routine maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires hands-on workmanship, the ability to work independently or in a team, and a commitment to quality in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in motorcycle or small engine mechanics preferred.
• Previous experience as Motorcycle Mechanic or Small Engine Mechanic.
• Sound knowledge of motorcycle and small engine systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Current driver’s licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and repair motorcycles, small engines and related equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and engine faults and identify required repairs
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, adjustments and component replacement
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble engines and mechanical components
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Use workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and machinery safely and correctly
• Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and parts used
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop
• Identify additional repair or maintenance requirements and communicate these to the Manager
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and manufacturer specifications

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant trade qualification in motorcycle or small engine mechanics preferred
• Previous experience as a Motorcycle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic or in a similar mechanical role
• Sound knowledge of motorcycle and small engine systems
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
• Good mechanical and practical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Current driver’s licence preferred
