Job summary

Colo High School, part of the NSW Department of Education, seeks a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs, including autism, in Year 7. You will support welfare, health and wellbeing under teacher supervision and contribute to the new MC Support Class opening in 2027.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and awareness of disabilities. You will join the Learning and Support Team at Colo High School in the Hawkesbury area.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance is required.
• Mandatory training required by the Department of Education, with willingness to undertake first‑aid training.
• Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher supervision.
• Support student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Assist in streams/settings such as pre‑school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual where applicable.
