Job summary

Meatco Australia in Mildura, Victoria, invites applications for a Meat Worker to join our processing team. We welcome experienced boners, slicers and slaughterers, offering a stable, full-time role with a base salary of AUD71,500 per year plus superannuation.

You will perform skilled processing tasks to requirements, uphold food safety and hygiene standards, and contribute to product quality and yield through precise cutting and safe equipment operation.

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant work experience in skilled slaughtering, boning or slicing within a commercial meat processing establishment.
• A relevant Certificate III in Meat Processing, or equivalent training and demonstrated skills.
• Strong knife handling skills and attention to cutting accuracy and product quality.
• An understanding of safe meat handling and hygiene requirements.
• The ability to work reliably within a production team and follow workplace instructions.
• Availability to work full-time at our Mildura location.

Responsibilities

• Performing skilled slaughtering and carcass dressing, or boning and slicing, according to your assigned role.
• Preparing carcasses for processing, including removing hides and internal organs where relevant to slaughtering duties.
• Separating meat from bones and cutting meat into the required portions and specifications.
• Trimming excess fat, damaged tissue and other unwanted material while maintaining product quality and yield.
• Safely operating relevant processing equipment and maintaining sharp, clean and sanitised knives.
• Following food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and applicable animal welfare procedures.
• Identifying and reporting product defects, contamination risks and equipment faults.

You will perform skilled meat processing work appropriate to your experience and assigned position, with a focus on product quality, safe working practices and food hygiene.

The position offers a base salary of AUD71,500 per annum plus superannuation. Overtime, penalty rates and allowances will be paid additionally where applicable under the relevant award or enterprise agreement. Paid leave and other employment entitlements apply.
