Job summary

Confluence Water in Manly is seeking a Site Works Supervisor to lead a 15-trade team (mechanical fitters, electricians, plumber) at Sydney Water's Manly Wastewater Treatment Plant. You will oversee mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance, plus minor projects, with standard hours Mon-Fri 7:00am–3:30pm.

You will ensure safe, efficient delivery, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive improvements to reliability and performance at the facility.

Qualifications

• You have a mechanical or electrical trade qualification or engineering background.
• Experience leading medium-size, multi-trade teams in a water/wastewater setting is ideal.
• Current Class C driver's licence and strong safety focus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritise, and oversee maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, repairs, and daily work activities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the site maintenance team to be safe, productive and high-performing.
• Provide on-site leadership and technical guidance using compliant materials, tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with Sydney Water, contractors and internal teams to support maintenance delivery.
• Manage and resolve operational issues, escalating where needed and meeting reporting obligations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency and outcomes.

Job description

Do you have a strong mechanical or electrical background, combined with experience leading multi-trade teams? Join our Confluence Maintenance team as a Site Works Supervisor and play a key role in maintaining Sydney Water's critical wastewater infrastructure.

In this role, you will lead a team of 15 skilled tradespeople, including mechanical fitters, electricians, and a plumber, to deliver day-to-day mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance, as well as minor project works, at Sydney Water’s Manly Wastewater Treatment Plant in North Head.

Working closely with Sydney Water, you'll ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard, helping maximise the reliability and performance of this critical facility. This is a permanent, full-time, site-based position, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

About You

• You have a mechanical or electrical trade qualification or an engineering background, ideally with experience in the water and wastewater industry.
• You hold a current and valid Class C driver's licence.
• You have demonstrated strong supervisory experience, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive the performance of medium-sized, multi-trade teams.
• You are highly resilient, with a natural ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and remain effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
• You’re eager to progress your career within the essential services sector, particularly in water and wastewater management.
