Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Site Support Worker for the Cape York Family Centre Rehabilitation Centre in Cooktown. The role involves lone-work safety checks, supporting residents, and maintaining security during shifts that include nights and weekends.

You will contribute to a caring, family-oriented service within a culturally safe environment, providing practical support and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Casual hours apply with loading and penalties.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or ability to acquire.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.
• Sound computer skills and ability to read/send emails, access online training modules.
• Good written communication to record observations, incidents and hazards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site safety and security with perimeter checks.
• Conduct afternoon lockdown checks of buildings and vehicles.
• Monitor on-site conduct and prevent contraband or impairment on-site.
• De-escalate conflicts and report to management as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with emergency services when required.
• Record observations and actions in the Site Support Worker book and email updates.
• Assist clients with practical support and transport as organised by Clinical Team.
• Undertake routine cleaning tasks and maintain equipment and vehicles.
