Job summary

Public Sector People is seeking an experienced trades supervisor in Queensland to lead construction projects, coordinate contractors and field staff including apprentices, and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery. You will support estimating, prepare quotations, monitor progress, and provide leadership to trade teams, applying WHS standards and strong communication with stakeholders.

A recognized trades background with estimating experience, driver's licence and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in construction.
• Experience supervising and managing trade staff and apprentices.
• Strong WHS knowledge and compliance.
• Experience in construction estimating.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects involving contractors and the department's field staff, including apprentices.
• Supervise and coordinate trade staff to ensure work is completed efficiently and to required quality standards.
• Provide leadership, guidance and performance management to trade teams.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure workplace health and safety requirements are consistently met.
• Assist with the preparation of project estimates, quotations and associated documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, internal teams and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Monitor project progress, workmanship and quality outputs.
• Identify and address issues affecting project delivery, performance or safety.
• Maintain accurate project and administrative records using relevant computer systems.
