Job summary

Icon Metal is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor in Sydney, NSW to lead daily site operations, manage teams and uphold safety, quality and efficiency on construction projects.

You will oversee crews, conduct safety briefings, monitor progress, review drawings, coordinate logistics and ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies. White Card and a valid driver’s licence are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in construction supervision or senior trade roles.
• Experience leading diverse construction crews.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• White Card and a valid driver''s licence required.

Responsibilities

Icon Metal is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our construction team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects. As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing teams, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering exceptional results on every project we undertake.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating construction crews and subcontractors on site to ensure work is completed according to project specifications and timelines
• Conducting daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Monitoring project progress, tracking work completed, and reporting on site activities to management
• Inspecting work quality at all stages of construction to ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements
• Managing site logistics, including material delivery, equipment placement, and resource allocation
• Maintaining accurate site documentation, including timesheets, incident reports, and project records
• Identifying and resolving operational challenges, safety hazards and quality issues in a timely manner
• Communicating effectively with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure clear understanding of project objectives
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and company policies on site
• Conducting inductions for new workers and ensuring ongoing training and competency development

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience in construction supervision or a senior trade role within the building and construction industry
• Demonstrated experience managing and leading diverse construction teams effectively
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, including Work Health and Safety Act requirements and best practice safety management
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, contractors and clients
• Problem-solving capability and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Valid driver's licence
• Experience in the metal fabrication or structural steel construction sector is highly desirable.
• Qualified rigging experience
