Job summary

Icon Metal is seeking experienced Riggers, Doggers and Installers to join our Sydney-based team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on safe movement, positioning and installation of materials and equipment across building sites, delivering high-quality outcomes.

You will read technical drawings, perform pre-operation checks, coordinate with crane operators and supervisors, and uphold safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian High Risk Work Licence for dogging/rigging.
• Proven experience as a rigger, dogger or installer in structural steel or building trades.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices, lifting operations and load calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Rigging, securing and positioning heavy materials, equipment and structural components using appropriate rigging equipment and techniques.
• Operating and managing dogging operations to guide and direct the movement of materials and equipment across construction sites.
• Installing structural elements, metalwork and other building components in accordance with project specifications and safety requirements.
• Conducting pre-operation inspections of rigging equipment, lifting devices and associated machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Communicating effectively with crane operators, supervisors and other team members to ensure coordinated and safe operations.
• Adhering to all relevant safety protocols, site-specific procedures and industry regulations throughout all operations.
• Maintaining accurate records of equipment inspections, completed tasks and any incidents or hazards identified on site.
• Supporting the installation and assembly of metalwork and structural components as required by project demands.

Icon Metal is seeking experienced Riggers, Doggers and Installers to join our dynamic team in Sydney and ACT. This is a full-time position based in Sydney NSW 2000, offering the opportunity to work on diverse construction and installation projects across the building trades sector. As a Riggers Dogger Installer, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement, positioning, and installation of materials and equipment on site. This position is essential to the success of our projects and demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

Rigging, securing and positioning heavy materials, equipment and structural components using appropriate rigging equipment and techniques

What we're looking for

Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

Valid driver's licence (preferred)
