• Five+ years of experience in commercial air conditioning installation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day delivery of commercial air conditioning projects.
• Lead and coordinate installers, apprentices, subcontractors and associated trades.
• Manage HVAC installations across RAAF Defence, government and commercial sites in Gippsland.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, pre-start meetings and daily work planning.
• Allocate labour and resources to meet project programs and site requirements.
• Coordinate installation activities with project managers, builders, Defence reps and other contractors.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications and installation plans.
• Ensure compliance with project documentation, Australian Standards and codes.
• Oversee installation of split, multi-split, ducted, VRF/VRV and packaged systems.
• Monitor workmanship, productivity and safety on site.
• Identify and resolve installation, coordination and access issues.
• Manage materials, equipment deliveries and site requirements in coordination with the project team.
• Ensure variations, delays, defects and project risks are reported promptly.
• Complete required site documentation, checklists and handover requirements.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised worksites.
• Mentor apprentices and tradespeople and promote safe practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day delivery of commercial air conditioning projects

• Lead and coordinate installers, apprentices, subcontractors and associated trades

• Manage HVAC installations across RAAF Defence, government and commercial sites throughout Gippsland

• Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, pre-start meetings and daily work planning

• Allocate labour and resources to meet project programs and site requirements

• Coordinate installation activities with project managers, builders, Defence representatives, government stakeholders and other contractors

• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work and installation plans

• Ensure all work complies with project documentation, Australian Standards, relevant codes and company procedures

• Oversee the installation of split, multi-split, ducted, VRF/VRV and packaged air conditioning systems

• Monitor workmanship, productivity, safety and overall site performance

• Identify and resolve installation, coordination and access issues efficiently

• Manage materials, equipment deliveries and site requirements in coordination with the project team

• Ensure variations, delays, defects and project risks are identified and reported promptly

• Complete required site documentation, checklists, quality records and handover requirements

• Maintain clean, safe and organised worksites

• Mentor apprentices and tradespeople while promoting safe work practices and high installation standards

Skills and Experience

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence

• Minimum five years' experience in commercial air conditioning installation

• Previous supervisory, leading-hand or site-management experience

• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigerant pipework, ductwork and mechanical plant installation

• Demonstrated ability to supervise tradespeople, apprentices and subcontractors

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and construction programs

• Strong understanding of site safety, quality assurance and project documentation

• Excellent planning, problem-solving and organisational skills

• Clear and professional communication with clients, builders, supervisors and project stakeholders

• Ability to work within the documentation, security and compliance requirements of Defence and government projects

• Reliable, self-motivated and committed to delivering high-quality work

• Professional presentation and genuine pride in workmanship
